From seasonal photo activations to themed pop-up experiences, each concept is carefully designed to feel visually engaging, shareable, and emotionally connected to both pets and their owners.
The concept for this activation was inspired by VOGUE magazine and the trend of recreating it for pets. Over the years, “DOGUE” magazine-style covers have become a recognizable and playful format within online pet communities.
For this event, the goal was to create our own interpretation of this concept during the Riverside Dog Market in Toronto, combining fashion-inspired visuals with personalized pet portraits. The project focused on translating the editorial feel of luxury magazine covers into an approachable, interactive experience tailored specifically for pet owners.
Social media carousels featured sample “DOGUE” covers created from previous sessions, helping potential clients visualize the final result and understand the experience offered.
Additional social content was created during the event to maintain real-time engagement and increase visibility throughout the day. Short-form videos and casual behind-the-scenes clips were used to capture attention while showcasing the atmosphere of the activation.
One reel featured a printed version of the magazine cover concept paired with trending audio inspired by the release of Wicked, helping the content feel timely and platform-relevant across both TikTok and Instagram.
The final images captured the editorial aesthetic of the project while highlighting the personality of each pet. By combining clean compositions, magazine-inspired typography, and minimal styling, each portrait was transformed into a personalized mock magazine cover that felt both humorous and visually polished.
Following the event, many attendees organically shared their custom “DOGUE” covers across social media and tagged the project online, allowing the event to continue gaining visibility without requiring additional promotional posting.
As more participants joined with different pets, the concept naturally expanded beyond dogs.
One attendee brought a cat, which inspired the creation of a custom “CATSMOPOLITAN” magazine cover variation.
Due to the success from the Riverside Market activation, The Pet Store on Yonge invited us to host a second “DOGUE” event at their location.
To promote the follow-up event, we repurposed footage and final cover designs from the original activation into new Instagram reels and promotional content.
This approach helped build familiarity with the concept while showing the audience response and visual appeal of the first event.
